I have a background in architecture, with a focus on using digital tools as a means of representation of space and information. I try to push the boundaries of data representation with physical and digital forms. In this exhibition, the data is exhibited in the form of a totem. The totem is the physical representation of a distinctly personal dataset
During an Erasmus+ internship in Seville I travelled around the city and the surrounding urban areas: this totem is the 3D form of that movement over the course of eight weeks. With location data extracted from Google Maps' log of my mobile phone GPS over this period, this form was created with a central point of my average movement and a vertical scale of one milimetre for every ten minutes. The processes behind the totem are generic. The data that created it is personal. The result is a digital form that mirrors my physical movements.
